Duration: This is a two year program, with two work terms of approximately 4 months each.

This degree program has been designed in consultation with Alberta's computer industry. To meet the needs of this diverse range of employers, several specializations have been designed to allow students to develop skills appropriate to their own interests and industry needs: Distributed Control System Development, Information Systems Development, Network Management and Software-Engineering.

A two-year diploma in the area of computer information systems, computer engineering technology, electronics, instrumentation, or equivalent post-secondary learning augmented with experience. The applicant must meet the SAIT English requirements of a TOEFL score of 580 (paper based) or 237 (computer based) (English 30).
Due to the diverse and rapidly changing nature of the industry, accepted students should expect to be evaluated based on the details of their prior learning and work experience. Evaluations are used to make provisions for a customized bridging program in order to assist students in meeting required competency levels for admission to their majors. In addition, students will be selected on a competitive basis using criteria including related work experience and academic achievement beyond the minimum standard to achieve the diploma.
